Currently, the scope of postal services has expanded significantly and the versatility of customer service has increased. By modernizing the existing parcel service of the post office to meet customer needs, a special parcel service called Speed Post was launched in all district towns on May 15, 2018. Speed Post Cell works in two shifts. The feature of the service is that the service is booked at the counter subject to payment of postage at the usual rate like domestic parcels and is operated and delivered on an end-to-end basis. Postmaster Generals determine booking, exchange, delivery and stage offices locally in their districts. However, time and cost-saving policies are followed at all stages. The service is operated through mobile app-based software. As soon as the parcel reaches the delivery post office, a message is sent to the recipient's mobile phone and the software ensures that the message is sent to the recipient's mobile phone immediately after delivery. The main mail routes of Speed Post are Dhaka-Khulna-Dhaka, Dhaka-Rajshahi-via Sirajganj RMS-Dhaka, Dhaka-Sirajganj-Bogra-Rangpur-Parbatipur-Dhaka, Dhaka-Comilla-Chittagong-Dhaka, Dhaka-Narsingdi-Sylhet-Dhaka, Dhaka-Gazipur-Mymensingh-Netrokona-Dhaka. Speed Post only provides window delivery based on the recipient's mobile number mentioned in the recipient's address, in some cases, delivery is made after checking the national identity card to confirm the identity of the recipient.
